Various types of yoga are described in ancient texts. In yoga books, different types of yoga are described, like – Raj Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga), Hatha Yoga, Yoga, meditation yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Karm Yoga, Mantra Yoga and Gyan Yoga. The main 4 types of yoga are – Raj Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga) – is the main types of yoga. It can also be defined by Ashtanga Yoga. It has eight parts – Yama, Rama, Asana, Pranayama, Dharana, Pratyahara, meditation and Samadhi. Karma Yoga – This is the second types of yoga. Karma Yoga means that the actions that we perform in the present will give us results in the future, it depends only on our karma. If we do some good deeds today, then in the future, results will be pleasant and also enjoyable. Bhakti Yoga – This yoga describes the ways of devotion towards lord/ god. Gyan Yoga – Gyan (Knowledge) is the most difficult yoga, because walking on the path of meditation does not happen in everyone’s, it requires energy and strength. That is why it comes in the category of the most difficult types of yoga. That is the reason this types of yoga is chosen by the sages and Maharishis.
